Day 3 - Prague
Your morning's sightseeing tour reveals why Prague is considered one of Europe's most attractive cities. Visit the 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle courtyard, St. Vitus and then walk over the Charles Bridge to the Old Market Square. The evening is free to mingle with the locals at Wenceslas Square, shop for souvenirs or enjoy one of the many charming cafés or restaurants in Prague. (B) |
Day 4 - Prague
Spend a day at your leisure to relax and stroll through a museum or gallery, wander along the banks of the Vlatava River, relax at an outdoor restaurant or shop for local handicrafts and art work. This afternoon, participate in an optional tour to Terezin, the infamous Nazi WWII concentration camp, now a memorial to those who perished. (B) |
Day 6 - Nuremberg City Tour
After breakfast, join a guided tour of Nuremberg that includes such sights as the Palace of Justice, the venue of the Nuremberg trials, the Market Square and the Church of Our Lady. After the tour, stroll through the shops on your own. Enjoy scenic sailing during lunch on board (B,L,D) |
Day 7 - Regensburg City Tour
This morning arrive in Regensburg. Enjoy a walking tour of the city, built in 179 BC by the Romans, today it stands as one of the largest and most well preserved cities in Bavaria. The tour includes such sights as the Old Town Hall, the Dom St. Peter, the Roman Gates at Porta Pretoria, and one of the oldest stone bridges over the Danube. Sail for Passau this evening (B,L,D) |
Day 8 - Morning in Passau
This morning arrive in Passau, where the Ilz, Inn, and Danube Rivers meet. Passengers joining the optional tour will depart for Salzburg early this morning, while remaining guests will have the opportunity to explore Passau independently. Most known for St. Stephen's Cathedral, the city boasts many fine examples of Baroque and Gothic architecture. Continue sailing during lunch and relax on board this afternoon. In the late afternoon, the ship will make a brief technical stop to pick up passengers rejoining the ship (B,L,D) |
Day 9 - Melk Abbey
This morning, enjoy a guided tour of the historic Benedictine Abbey in Melk, considered one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Europe. On the tour you will have the opportunity to view the abbot's chambers, the Kaiser's walk and the library. Day 10 - Full Day in Vienna
Your morning tour of Vienna begins with a drive along the famed Ringstrasse, Vienna's main boulevard. View the hub of the Hapsburg Empire, and walk the courtyards to view sites such as the Vienna State Opera House, Parliament and St. Stephen's Cathedral. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Day 11 - Budapest, Hungary
Your morning tour of Budapest begins in Pest and views such sights as the Parliament, City Park and Heroes Square. Cross the river to Buda to see the Royal Palace, Matthias Church and the graceful medieval architecture that lines the traditional cobbled streets. Explore the city on your own this afternoon. This evening, enjoy a Captain's Farewell Dinner on board (B,L,D) |
